Confidential support from the comfort of home, based in Portsmouth, Hampshire

"When we deny our stories, they define us.
When we own our stories, we get to write a brave new ending."
Brene Brown
The Benefits of Talk Online Counselling
-
Each session can take place from the comfort of your own home or private work place. This can alleviate the initial anxiety of meeting with a counsellor face-to-face.
-
You can book sessions at a time that suits you.
-
The sessions are accessible for all, including those who are: disabled, off work due to a long-term illness, live in a rural area, or if you are away on holiday.
-
Location is not relevant, you can be anywhere in the country, you just need access to the internet!
-
Communicating indirectly through a screen can create more autonomy for the individual. This can often enable faster access to deeper internal issues and self-disclosure.

Walk and Talk
If you are based in or around Portsmouth and would prefer
face-to-face counselling, Walk and Talk might be more suitable for you.
Immersing ourselves in nature offers an immediate impact on the amygdala, the centre of our fight and flight response, and decreases the levels of cortisol in the brain, thus reducing anxiety and stress.
During a Walk and Talk session, Southsea seafront and shore becomes our therapeutic space. Here we can find a comfortable bench to sit, talk and look out at the waves, or we can amble down the promenade, whichever you’d prefer. (Don’t forget your coat and gloves if it’s cold and windy or a hat and sunscreen in the summer!)
The weather and the sea can help to ground you during these sessions and reflect on your mood and the challenges you’re facing.

"I had a series of weekly online sessions with Roz to help tackle some challenges I was experiencing due to the pressures of juggling work and life post-pandemic.
My conversations with Roz offered me a safe space to explore gently and constructively some of the underlying triggers behind the way I was feeling, which gave me a lot of insight and helped ground me on my path forward.
Roz is an active listener who gave me a lot of room to express my feelings and offered thoughtful guidance along the way."
Laura, London based client, 2022
About Me
My name is Roz and I am a qualified counsellor with 20 years of face to face, online, group and tutoring experience. Since 2003, I have worked in a drug rehabilitation centre, wellbeing groups, schools, helplines, and charities for young people. I have been employed by organisations which have embraced the benefits of both online and face-to-face sessions.
I trained from a person-centred perspective and, through years of training, have adopted humanistic and holistic methods in my approach to counselling. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Gestalt models.
No two people are the same which is why our sessions would be led by you. I am an integrative counsellor with a person-centred approach and I’m here to listen, hear and validate your story. My priority is building a trusting, confidential relationship and listen without judgement.
With my help and guidance, the work we do together will help you to find answers inside, enabling internal healing in a safe and secure space.
"Therapy should not be theory driven, but relationship driven."
Irvin Yalom
I monitor the effectiveness of the therapy I give through feedback from clients, self-reflection and regular confidential supervision.
Issues that have been brought to me in the past include low mood, anxiety and depression, anger, study/work stress, self-harm, sexuality and gender identity, bereavement and pre-bereavement, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, addiction, sexual assault, relationship breakdown, abuse, bullying, family breakdown and divorce. In addition to this, I have a particular interest in exploring the effects of the menopause and peri-menopause with anyone struggling amidst these changes.
Finding the right therapist can be tricky, but if you feel comforted by my approach and would like to book a free half hour session
